Hemogoblin

Terms of Use

Effective October 21, 2026

Hemogoblin is not a medical device and not birth control. It's a log with estimates. Don't use it to prevent pregnancy, to diagnose or treat anything, or in place of advice from a healthcare professional.

The license

Hemogoblin is licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard EULA). These terms add to it. If they ever conflict, the EULA wins.

Estimates are estimates

Next period dates, phases, the estimated ovulation, the fertile window, temperature shifts, patterns and every other prediction in the app are calculated from what you log and, if you allow it, from Apple Health, using the rules described in How estimates work. They can be wrong. Cycles vary, and illness, stress, travel, pregnancy, breastfeeding, hormonal contraception, medical conditions, perimenopause and plain old chance can all change them. Sensor readings from other devices and apps are shown as they arrive and aren't checked for accuracy.

Not medical advice

Curiosities

The app shows facts about cycles from science and history, with sources. Many describe what people used to believe, and plenty of those beliefs were wrong, strange or dangerous. They're there for interest. None of them are health advice or recommendations.

Your data, your responsibility

Everything you log stays on your device, as described in the Privacy Policy. The developer keeps no copy, so it can't restore lost data, recover a forgotten backup passphrase or open a locked backup. Your logs aren't included in iCloud or device backups. Make an encrypted backup in Settings now and then, and keep the passphrase somewhere safe.

Fair use

Don't reverse engineer, resell or redistribute the app except as the law or the EULA allows, and don't use it to break the law.

No warranty

To the fullest extent the law allows, Hemogoblin is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, and the developer isn't liable for decisions made using it or for data you lose. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you. Your rights under your local consumer law aren't affected.

Changes

If these terms change, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. Using the app after a change means you accept the new terms.
